The generosity and kindness of God

Part of the work of this web site is to invite others who wish to send prayer requests. You may do this through our prayer request page. Since the time this page was published on the Net, many have sent prayer requests. What is wonderful about some of the prayer requestors we get online is that a few of them write back and tell us of how God had answered their prayers. This gives us the impetus and the reason for continuing our mission online. It reminds us and also our prayer requestors that God is a generous, a kind, and a merciful God.

Asking the intercession of John Paul II and Mother Teresa

We received this beautiful image in our email inbox and would wish to
share it with you.

http://www.pcentral-online.net/images/jp2-teresa.JPG

This is an image of the holy father John Paul II and Mother Teresa of
Calcutta. Both of them showed us greatly how to love God and have
much faith in Him. Through their inspiring example, we are taught also
to love the Catholic Church and its traditions. Let us then heed the
call to seek their intercession for all our needs and help in the cause
for their exaltation at the altar of our Lord to the honor of sainthood.
Mother Teresa of Calcutta has been beatified already and her cause for
sainthood is underway. The holy father's cause has already started and
we are asked to pray for his beatification. Let us then respond to the
call to ask their intercession and help in the process of their canonization.

In God's Time

When we experience hardships and difficulties
or when we aspire for something - dreams...
we want fulfilled and realized for our family
and loved ones - and even our own desires:
both noble or practical. We experience a
feeling of want - of lack - of loss -
of incompleteness - of no sense of meaning
- of no fulfillment - no accomplishment.
We get sick and endure the pains and
trials of an illness. We lose a loved one
and grieve intensely. We lose a job.
Our business fails. OUr social circle
deserts us or we are forgotten even by
friends close to us and dear to us.
We lose all sense of support. We are all
alone. And we cry out to God. We bare
our need and sinfulness before Him.
We plead and ask His mercy. And we wait,
often in suffering and pain. Then we
suddenly feel as if He does not hear
us. And then...then...when we least
expect it, we get an illumination
- a realization: "God answers our
prayers". But in His time, not
ours. And we realize that He does
answer and respond in the very little
things, the very ordinary situations
that we take for granted.

A prayer for Lillian Maude Glenn

Prayer response to a prayer request for Lillian Maude Glenn

The following prayer for Lillian Maude Glenn is a paraphrase of a prayer
composed by Msgr. Michael Buckley from "The Catholic Prayer Book"

O Lord God,
source of holy desires,
right counsels and just actions,
grant to your servant, Lillian,
that peace which the world cannot give,
so that her heart may be wholly devoted to Your service,
and all her days, freed from dread of her enemies,
may be passed in quietness under your protection.

Almighty and loving God,
you know her necessities before she asks,
and if she lacks knowledge in what she needs,
set her free from anxious thoughts for the morrow;
give her contentment with Your good gifts,
and confirm her faith that as she seeks Your kingdom,
she will not suffer and lack anything she needs
through Jesus Christ her Lord.

God, our Father, she turns to You always
because she cannot all the time see ways out
of situations which may trouble her spirit.
In her confusion she turns to You for help
and guidance because You alone can help her
and nothing is impossible to You.
Light up her life with faith,
strengthen her in hope,
and fill her with love,
so that she may rest in Your providence
which alone knows what is for her peace.
Amen.

Prayer for your daughter S.

This prayer comes from St. Thomas Aquinas and comes from the Catholic Prayer Book compiled by Msgr. Michael Buckley. The prayer goes thus:

Give to S., O Lord, a steadfast heart which no unworthy thought can drag downwards;
an unconquered heart which no tribulation can wear out;
an upright heart which no unworthy purpose may tempt aside.
Bestow upon S. also, O Lord our God, understanding to
know thee, diligence to seek thee, wisdom to find thee,
and a faithfulness that may finally embrace thee;
through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Introduction

This blog was created as an additional service for those who are sending prayer requests. Since some of those who send prayer requests may want a wider coverage in the internet for their prayer petitions this blog is set-up for this very purpose. To those who may learn of this blog, you have the option to include your email address or not. The advantage of having your email address published in the blog is that you can obtain responses from the general public for your prayer requests. If you rather would wish to keep your email address kept in private for security reasons, then this is also alright. Your prayer request will be read and prayed for just the same. May this blog service serve as many people as it can: people who hurt, people who suffer, people who are challenged with illness, people who wish to help others, people who wish to pray for others, people who wish to join in this ministry, and people who generally care about the state of our human condition - a human condition whom Jesus Himself shared with us.
